The Slipstream Summer Throwdown is a Competition for same-gender 2 person teams in Human, SuperHuman, and DemiGod Divisions.

CrossFit Slipstream

105 State St. Suite 100, St. Paul MN

The workouts and heats will be announced before the event.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Each team must have a captain and a team name.

 The team captain registers the team and represents the team as point of contact.

Cost: Early Bird (during April) $75/team, after that $90/team.

 At time of registration, team captain must specify each athletes full name and shirt size.

Athlete Age: 18+

All purchases are final and not refundable.

Registration CLOSED MAY 20TH.

    CHECK-IN:

    DemiGod (RX) All division check-in 7:30am.

    SuperHuman (Standard) Men division check-in 7:30am.

    SuperHuman (Standard) Women division check-in 10:00am.

    Human (Recreational) Women division check-in 10:00am.

    All Judges briefing 7:45am and 10:30am.

    REGULATIONS:

    Safety and good sportsmanship are everyone’s top priority.  Specifics TBA.


    JUDGING:

    Judges will be randomly assigned to each team.

    Athletes will be held to the standards explained below and at the athlete briefing.  All members of your team should be able to do the minimum outlined in the standards below.

    “No reps” will be based on violation of judging standards only.


    PARKING:

    Free parking is available in multiple parking lots in front of and behind CrossFit Slipstream.


    SWAG:

    Each athlete will receive a swag bag.

    Free t-shirts will be given to all athletes who register by May 20th.

    First place finishers in all divisions will receive a medal.


    SPECTATORS:

    Admission is $5.  Food and swag will be available for purchase.

    Event 1: “Thrust or Bust!” 

    Demigod (W/M RX)

    40kg/50kg (88lbs/110lbs)

    15minutes to complete:

    250m Run

    20 Power Snatches Ground-to-Overhead

    250m Run

    40 Front Squats

    250m Run

    60 Power Cleans Ground-to-Shoulder

    250m Run

    80 Deadlifts

    Then:

    Max Thrusters in time remaining.

    • Both partners leave for and return from the run together
    • Reps can’t start until both partners touch the barbell
    • Only one partner lifts at a time.  Segment as desired.  No ‘tag’ is required when switching 
    • Score is number of thrusters after segment 1 is completed or 15 minutes plus the number of reps that weren’t completed before the time cap  

    Superhuman (W/M Scaled)

    Then: 

    Max Dumbbell Thrusters (10lbs/20lbs) in time remaining of 15 minutes  

    • One partner rows at a time, each partner must do all four rounds of rowing
    • Reps can’t be started until both partners complete the rowing
    • All reps can be shared between partners, but only one works at a time
    • Snatches use one Dumbbell at a time
    • Push-Press and Thrusters use two Dumbbells
    • Swings and Deadlifts use one Kettlebell
    • Score is number of thrusters after segment 1 is completed or 15 minutes plus the number of reps that weren’t completed before the time cap

    Event 2: “3, 2, 1…BLOW!”

    Demigod (W/M RX)

    9 min time cap

    For Time 

    3 Rounds (partners must complete all of their movement.  May switch movements after completing a round, but not required to switch)

    • Partner 1: 10 m Handstand walk
    • Then Partner 2: 50 Double-Unders

    Then:

    2 Rounds (Segment as desired, but only one partner works at a time)

    • 30 Chest to bar pull-ups (kipping allowed)
    • 15 Burpee box jump overs (21”/24”)

    Then:

    1 Round (Partner 1: 20m then Partner 2: 20m)

    40m Walking weighted plate overhead lunges 10kg/20kg (22lbs/44lbs)

    • Score is time completed or 9 minutes plus the number of reps that weren’t completed before the time cap

    Superhuman (W/M Scaled)

    9 min time cap

    For Time 

    3 Rounds (partners must complete all of their movement.  May switch movements after completing a round, but not required to switch; Partner 1 must be in Handstand Hold at the wall for any skips to count)

    • Partner 1: Handstand Hold while Partner 2 completes 100 Single skips

    Then

    2 Rounds (Segment as desired, but only one partner works at a time)

    • 20 Chin-over-bar Pull-ups (kipping allowed)
    • 10 Burpee box jump overs (21”/24”)

    Then

    1 Round (Partner 1: 20m then Partner 2: 20m)

    40m Walking weighted plate overhead lunges 5kg/10kg (11lbs/22lbs)

    • Score is time completed or 9 minutes plus the number of reps that weren’t completed before the time cap

    Movement Standards:

    • Partner 1 can help partner 2 into handstand. Handstand is at the wall.

    Human (W/M Recreation)

    9 min time cap

    For Time 

    3 Rounds (partners must complete all of their movement.  May switch movements after completing a round, but not required to switch; Partner 1 must be in Plank Hold for any skips to count)

    • Partner 1: Plank Hold while Partner 2 completes 75 Single skips

    Then

    2 Rounds (Share reps, but one partner works at a time)

    • 20 Plank Ring-rows
    • 10 Burpee to plate

    Then

    1 Round (Share reps, but one partner works at a time)

    40 Air Squats

    • Score is time completed or 9 minutes plus the number of reps that weren’t completed before the time cap

    Final Event – Event 3 will be announced at the competition.
