Q: What is a WOD?

A: The WOD is Workout Of the Day.  It’s the workout we post on our website and what the CrossFit classes will do for their workout on any given day.

Q: Do I have to be in shape to take this class?

A: No, you do not have to be in shape to take the Intro class.  It is for all fitness levels.  The coach will adjust the workout for your fitness level.

Q: What should I wear to class?

A: Wear clothes and shoes you feel comfortable moving in. Most people wear a tshirt or tank with shorts or tights/yoga pants, and athletic shoes. Flatter shoes like Chuck Taylors are better, but most anything will work. 

Q: Should I eat something before class?

A: Yes, eat a small snack 60-90 minutes before class.  Good options include a piece of fruit, almond butter on carrots, a handful of nuts, or other light snack.

Q: I’m nervous about the workout, should I watch YouTube videos to learn the movements?

A: No, it is not required to watch videos before the workout.  You will be taught the movements and have an opportunity to practice them before the workout.

Q: If I haven’t worked out in a long time/ever, will it be too hard for me?

A: No! It is a common misconception that you have to be in shape before starting CrossFit. Every workout can be modified to meet your current fitness level, and the coach will work with you in class to determine a suitable workout for where you are today.

Q: Are there shower facilities at CrossFit Slipstream?

A: Yes, both the men’s and women’s locker rooms have showers. We also provide towels, soap, and shampoo for your use.
