Why did you decide to try CrossFit?

With the closing of the West St Paul YMCA last year I decided this was the winter to try it. I have been wanting to try CrossFit for a few years now but when it came down to it I felt that I would be able to get a quality workout in at a regular gym just as well. I have been proven wrong.

How is having a CrossFit coach changed your workout or fitness results?

The results seen in the classes I attended have increased my overall fitness, balance and mobility to levels I have not seen before going at it solo. Coach John has made several recommendations on exercises to do individually or before class that have drastically improved my foot and ankle strength which has improved my balance to levels not noticed before.

How has doing CrossFit affected your health and/or life?

The biggest impact I have seen from attending classes regularly are the impacts it has on my balance and mobility. Also, being part of a group workout atmosphere provides a competitive environment that I was missing by working out on my own which in turn drives me to work harder providing better overall results.

What is your favorite CrossFit movement?

Any movement that leaves me on the floor laying in a puddle of sweat.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about trying CrossFit?

The results are something that is difficult to obtain on your own or at a gym.
